KW909-FM – Data Combiner

The KW909–FM is an eight channel data combiner.
The inputs accept NMEA data streams at 4800 baud with channel 1 switchable between 4800 and 38400 baud. Channel 6 is auto sensing 4800/9600 baud.
All inputs are combined and output at either 4800baud or 38400 baud - selectable.
Status of the interface can be minitored by LED indications on all inputs and outputs, with an overload LED to ensure the correct output baud rate is selected etc.

KW910–SDC - Synchro Interface - AC/DC Synchro

The KW910–SDC was initially designed to DC Synchro transmission signals to NMEA0183 IEC61162 data.
AC synchro can also be converted but for high precision AC synchro conversion the KW910–M should be considered.
Applications include: Rudder Order used with a VDR. – Rudder Sensor Angle used with a VDR. - Wind speed and direction used with a VDR or ECDIS - Log speed used with a VDR or ECDIS – Telegraph, pitch or Shaft RPM used with a VDR
The KW910–SDC interface does not require alignment in the 1:1 and 90:1 mode. Accepted reference voltages range from 2 to 220V. Correct resistor values should be installed depending on the required input voltage.

KW910–M - Synchro Interface

The KW910–M converts synchro transmission to NMEA 0183 or IEC 61162 data.
Applications include: Gyro compass for radar, ECDIS and heading displays. – Rudder Sensor Angle used with a VDR. – Telegraph, pitch, rudder demand; The “XDR” sentence can be used for many synchro systems. – Wind speed and direction - Log speed
The KW910–M is a high precision interfacethat can convert all gyro ratios from 1:1 to 360:1. Synchro reference voltages accepted are between 40 to 220V and signals from 40 to 90V. The function and choice of data output is selectable by the installed via DIP switches.

KW950–E – Universal Interface

The KW950–E has a vast range of functions that will suit an enormous of interfacing requirements.
Its most basic function has been its most popular for many years, this being converting 360:1
Synchro or Stepper gyro inputs into NMEA0183 heading with calculated ROT outputs.

KW903–SP – Synchro Retransmission Unit – High Voltage

The KW903–SP is a high power synchro retransmission system.
Accepted inputs are 4 to 70V Stepper, 90x 400Hz contactless transmission or NMEA 0183 heading data into 360:1 synchro.
The output can be set for the following 50/60Hz AC values: 115V ref / 90V phase - 110V ref / 55V phase - 50V ref / 68V phase.
The system is powered by ship's 110V / 220V AC 50/60 Hz supply

KW903–SX – Synchro Retransmission Unit – Low Voltage

The KW903–SX is a high precision, medium power synchro retransmission system.
The system accepts NMEA 0183 heading data input and data from a magnetic compass or Cetrek system.
Output ratios range from 1:1 to 360:1 so for a vast range of repeater systems are compatible. The reference voltage output is selectible between 55V and 110V with a miximum phase output voltage of 50VAC.
This makes the KW903-SX a perfect partner for Anschutz repeater systems which require a 25VAC phase signal.
The KW903-SX outputs high precision is high which will give 360 values per revolution at most ratios.

KW920–SV – Digital to Analogue Interface

The KW920–SV is used to convert NMEA data into +/- voltages or 4 to 20mA current loop signals.

picture

KW930–DD – Expandable Data Distribution Interface

The KW930–DD will accept ASCII and NMEA data streams from 2400 to 38400 baud and distribute it via buffer amplifier to a user defined number of outputs.
Each KW930–DD board is expandable by direct connection to a second board and then a third, forth and so on.
The first board will have 4x Outputs
The second uses the 4th output of the first board as its input.
Therefore the options are 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, etc.
Each additional is powered directly from the previous board
Each output had an LED indication that will flash in time with the input LED. There is also a power status LED to show that the unit is on should no data be present at the input.

KW932–D – Digital Interface

The KW932–D is a 32 channel interface that converts 5V-220V status voltage to NMEA strings.
Designed for interfacing older fire door, watertight door, fire alarm, etc systems to the ships Voyage Data Recorder it has become popular with vessels requiring a digital display for their door/alarm status systems.
Using the KW932-D to interface with these systems the vessels have their own software that will decode the simple NMEA strings and display each door or alarm as a graphical image.
Accepting AC and DC signals, as well as contact closure, the KW932-D is a very versatile interface.

KW935–C – Propulsion Interface

The KW935–C will convert the input variable voltage signal into an NMEA string.
Accepted input signals range from +/-0.5V up to +/-30V AC and DC signals and 4-20mA signals.
Applications include: Engine telegraph systems - Bow and stern thrusters – Engine RPM indicators - Rudder angle indicators
Output strings available are $ERRPM (RPM), $ERRSA (Rudder), $PAMIT (Proprietary Thruster and Telegraph) and $PAMIV (Proprietary AMI Variable Output)
$PAMIV is used for systems that dont have a set NMEA string available. e.g. +/-10V input from Wind Speed 0 to 20m/s gives $PAMIV,0 to $PAMIV,20 as the output string

KW941–BP – Stepper Retransmission Unit – Pos or Neg Step

The KW941–BP interface converts NMEA heading data into DC stepper of 6 steps per degree.
The unit can also be used as a stepper amplifier accepting from 5V up to 35V DC step input and giving an output of 25V up to 70V of either positive or negative polarity.
One output channel is provided for connection to a stepper redistribution unit.
The KW941–BP is suitable for connection to a range of repeater systems.

picture

KW948 – 48 Steps Per Degree Interface

Certain older gyro systems used a 48 step per degree protocol, such as CPlat and Anschutz.
These gyros are few and far between these days and finding a replacement is now nearly impossible.
The KW948 negates the necessity to replace the complete repeater system by taking a standard NMEA 0183 heading strind and converting it into the 48 step per degree signal required.
Follow up rate is selectable between 5 and 10 degrees per second.

picture

KW960–D – Resolver Interface

The KW960–D resolver interface takes heading or anemometer NMEA 0183 and generates a low power synchro, resolver (or sine-cosine output.
A number of different ratios are possible including 1:1, 9:1, 10:1, 30:1, 36:1, 90:1, 180:1 and 360:1
The output voltage is nominally 10 to 40V line to line, adjustable. Resolver option has a 20V max output. Reference output is 25 or 50V jumper selectable.
115V ref 90V signal output is available with the use of a step up transformer, which, if required, should be specified at the time of purchase.
